A Reiki Blessing
Some of the gifts of Reiki Level 2
As I was doing my morning Reiki send, the usual suspects arrived in my heart and I sent to them all—family, friends, loved ones in need (there are a lot these days). And then, to my surprise, my grandfather showed up wanting my attention and Reiki. I never knew him—he died when my father was 8. There I was sending him Reiki, and I felt how he was part of a whole network of ancestors that were affected by his death, their grief even more complicated because he died by suicide. There in the mix was my father, his mother (my grandmother and the ex-wife of my grandfather), my grandfather’s parents (my great-grandparents who lived long enough for me to know and love as a child), my grandfather’s brother and so many others who were affected by his death. It felt so loving to be offering Reiki into those painful times for my people. Reiki was a vehicle for my love and support for them that I could also feel was supportive for those of us who were born later including my siblings, and my sons, who knew my father but none of the others. We carry their DNA and grew up immersed in the stories of our family, part of our inheritance.
As I was sending, something totally unexpected happened. I started seeing the healing energy flowing through a map of our family visually, in a watercolor painting. Then, that painting became a series of paintings. I had nothing to do with them; I was watching them unfold in my mind’s (or was it my heart’s) eye. I could see where each person was placed in each picture and how they were connected. Each painting had someone different in the middle with family members radiating out from there. It was as if I was being asked to see and feel his death from the viewpoint of each one—as if I was seeing everyone in a prism that was turning and shifting in the light of Reiki. Reiki hands were a part of each painting.
Many people have learned that Reiki can be sent through distances with Reiki Level 2 yet might not know that it can also be sent back , and also forward, in time. And, really, when offering Reiki, time and space do not matter at all; the time is always Now when offering Reiki. We are not really “sending back,” rather we are opening a portal to all time.
If you want to learn more about Reiki Level 2 join me for a 45 min info session on Thursday, February 26 at 7:30p ET. Link is here. Reiki Level 2 training is the weekend of March 13-15. Link is here.
Inexpressible gratitude to my friend and Reiki teacher Luann Jacobs for encouraging us to draw and paint pictures starting with our hands when we were with her recently. That apparently opened to gates to new and meaningful possibilities. The painting above is what we made together.
Also upcoming:
Re-Writing Your History, Saturday, March 7, 1:00 to 3:30p ET at Radiant Yoga and Wellness, in person and livestream. Link here. Also, in writing the above piece there is a flavor of what we’ll be doing in this workshop—going back to a past event and giving it new meaning through empathy and love.
AND LIVE KIRTAN IN COLUMBUS!!!!
My dear friend Narada Wise is part of a fabulous Kirtan group named Sean Johnson and The Wild Lotus Band. They will be leading wonderful chanting with vibrant music on Sunday, March 8 from 6:00 to 7:30p. Link is here.
Let’s welcome them to town with a huge crew. You will love chanting and singing with them. In the past I have had to drive up to Canton to be with them, so this is extra special.

This makes me want to learn Reiki 2! But I haven't learned Reiki 1... or any Reiki. ;)
